Rainsville Library continues to grow and improve under the direction of Mrs. Ruth Hammon. Since September 1998, she has been a contributory factor in the many improvements made to the library to bring us up to the millennium and beyond.  We provide a service for the community that moves us into the new age of technology.  We provide 7 computers with Internet access and the Virtual Library with over 30 data bases and growing for your research needs. We now also have two children's computers for children to play educational games and improve computer skills.
LIBRARY SERVICES:
Adult Services: We have a large print, Christian fiction, typical fiction, and non-fiction collection, magazines and newspapers.

Audio-Visual Collection: This features books on tape, including  classics, nonfiction and typical fiction, movies and informational videos.  We also have access to the Internet and Virtual Library.

Children-Young Adult Services: This section groups fiction and non-fiction from infant through 6th grade then 7th through 12th grade.  We continually acquire new reading material for the accelerated reading program for all school age children.  We have weekly reading programs for ages 4-5, with fun stories and crafts for them to enjoy.  Kids always look forward to the Summer Reading program for K-6th grade.

Reference:  This gives patrons a wide variety of choices for research including literature and medicine.  We have the Virtual Library, with many different data bases, homework hotline, and e-mail research needs.

Online-Catalog:  This gives patrons access to all materials and where they are located.  You can find all items using searches for title, author, subject or keywords.  A search terminal is located at our check-out desk for your convenience.  We now have our web catalog online: www.rainsvillepubliclibrary.com
